Summer 2002 Supplemental

Message from Secretary General

As many of you are aware, Regino Perez-Polo has decided to focus his efforts as Editor of the society's journal, International Journal of Developmental Neuroscience (IJDN). As a result, he has relinquished his duties as Secretary General of ISDN. As Secretary General, Regino was the main individual responsible for growing the society and shepherding all of us through the many successful meetings of the society.

Thank you Regino for all your contributions. ISDN owes much to your diligence and devotion to all of us. We are relieved that you will continue as the Editor of IJDN, as the success of the journal is so critical to the society. In his ongoing role as Editor of IJDN, I have asked Regino to remain as an ISDN executive member.

We are also indebted to Gutav Moonen for his most capable duties as Treasurer of ISDN. It is only with Gustav's careful management of the society's books that we have been able to survive as a society and not have any of our meeting organizers hauled off to jail for over-expenditure of their account. Thank you Gustav and good luck to Pierre LePrince as he takes over from Gustav.

You will also note that we have updated the ISDN web site. We are making an attempt to move away from "paper" and provide an interactive home for ISDN.

It is hoped that the new site will enable all ISDN members to interact more effectively and provide quick feedback on issues of concern. Please check back from time to time and see what new features have been incorporated.

ISDN 2004 in Edinburgh, Scotland promises to be an excellent venue for our meeting. However our meeting organizers, John Edmond (ISDN President) and Robert Miller (Program Chair) need your suggestions and comments as to what and whom you would like to see and hear at the 2004 meeting. Please use the email contacts available through the ISDN web site.

Last, but not least, please renew or update your membership by visiting the ISDN website (https://developmental-neuroscience.org). Activate the Apply Online membership form available from the Membership Page. Fill out the requested information and submit your application. This will update our records with the most accurate contact information. If you are already a paid member, you will not be sent another invoice.

This will be the last newsletter mailed to the membership; all subsequent correspondence will be done via email and the ISDN website.

ISDN 2002 Election Results

The recent election has been completed. Many thanks to Regino and Donna Masters for undertaking this demanding task and many thanks to all those members who voted. In future elections, we plan to handle all nominations and votes via the internet.

Congratulations to the newly elected members of the ISDN executive. We look forward to your input and wisdom as we endeavor to build the society.
